I’ve always loved the game of soccer. I was fortunate enough to continue playing throughout college at the D3 level. I had some amazing coaches who taught me not only a lot about the sport, but about the world. Now, as a coach, it’s my turn to share my knowledge and experience with young people in my community. I am a believer in the fundamentals of soccer, but even more a believer in developing the player into not only team players, but leaders in the community. It’s been an amazing journey so far, and I look forward to continuing the growth of the program and players.

I have been passionate about soccer since I was a child, playing through high school and continuing to play indoor soccer to this day. I have been coaching for 8 years, with 4 at the varsity level at U6 through U10. Coaching allows me to share my love for the game with the next generation. My focus is on developing players’ technical skills and teamwork while fostering a positive and supportive environment. I aim to instill confidence and sportsmanship in each player, ensuring they grow both on and off the field. Watching my players’ progress and enthusiasm for soccer is an incredibly rewarding experience.

My goal as a coach is to create a fun and safe environment for my players. I want parents to know that when they drop their kids off for practice, their kids are in good hands. As a coach, my philosophy is that of progress and preparation. I want your kid to progress their skills and knowledge of soccer every season. We run very intense practices. We’re running high school and college level drills at our practices every day. I want my players prepared for every scenario, so that when we get into a game, we’ve already covered it in practice multiple times.
I coach because I love being around kids and watching them grow. It’s a great joy seeing the improvement in their skills and teamwork, as well as seeing their confidence grow.

Coaching these U11 boys has been an incredible journey, especially after watching them grow and develop. The joy they bring to the pitch is contagious, and it’s an honor to join them in scrimmages during practice. With my own son on the team, I’m deeply passionate about fostering a positive and joyful soccer environment where every player feels valued and excited to play. Their improvement and enthusiasm are truly inspiring, making each practice and game a rewarding experience.

II have played soccer pretty much my entire life. I’ve played from age four up through high school and a little in college (and still play today in old men leagues!). I’ve coached soccer for approximately 8 years at all levels, anywhere from U6 to U12 and high school with Wapakoneta High School.
My goals are as follows:
Build and increase the proficiency in ball handling skills
Build and increase the proficiency in passing (while kids love shooting a ball into the net, 90% of soccer deal with these first 2 goals)
Build and increase the proficiency in formations and placement on the field
And of course, have FUN!
I’m hoping to impart some of my love for the game to your children.

I have the pleasure of coaching the Shawnee Select BU12 Red team. I believe in empowering my players to achieve their max potential. We continually work on basics like foot skills and passing, while learning new strategies. I like to give my players “homework” each week where I challenge them to do foot skill drills at home as well as watch at least one professional soccer game. Our team has come so far in a very short amount of time! We are looking forward to competing in the MVYSA league again this spring.

I got into coaching, volunteering once my kids were old enough to play. Soccer is a large part of my family. I was given an opportunity to coach Shawnee Select. The idea is to teach them the same way our high school team is coached, so when it’s time to advance, our kids transition smoothly.
My expectations are maximum effort, whether it is a practice or game and to execute the game plan as they have been taught. Outcomes are irrelevant if each kid and coach left everything on the pitch.

This year’s team has a lot of young, bright stars. The girls are starting to turn the page to become more of an all around soccer player. We have improved in all aspects of the game since I first started to coach four seasons ago. Our goal this year is to continue to build a strong team, win the league and bring home some hardware at our tournaments!
